BRUNSWICK — A fatal motor vehicle crash occurred late Saturday night at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Range Road, claiming the life of a local man.
According to the Brunswick Police Department, officers and fire personnel responded to reports of a rollover accident at approximately 10:17 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle on its side with significant damage.
The initial investigation suggests the car had been traveling on Range Road before careening through the yard of a residence and overturning onto Pleasant Street.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was ejected from the vehicle.
Despite attempts by the Brunswick Fire Department to administer life-saving measures, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have withheld the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
A further update is expected once the family has been informed.
Following the incident, a portion of Pleasant Street was shut down to a single lane for several hours as investigators worked to reconstruct the crash.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and the Brunswick Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward.
