ANSONIA — On Sept. 28, members of the Ansonia Fire Department were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle accident involving a single car and a telephone pole on Wakelee Avenue in the city’s west side.
Assistant Chief Lembo of Car 25 was first to arrive at the scene and immediately assessed the situation.
Recognizing the gravity of the accident, Lembo upgraded the incident to a motor vehicle accident requiring extrication.
Fire department personnel, in coordination with Frank’s LLC, worked swiftly to stabilize the vehicle.
This allowed emergency medical services to safely remove the entrapped patient.
The individual was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Ansonia Fire Department has not released the identity of the patient or the current condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
