Manchester police seek missing man after brain surgery

MANCHESTER — Manchester Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating Edgar Aponte, a 44-year-old male who has been missing since Sept. 28 after leaving his brother’s residence where he was recovering from brain surgery.

Aponte, known to have a history of narcotic use, was last seen around 1 a.m. at his brother’s home.

According to the police, Aponte had made previous attempts to leave in search of narcotics.

He is currently due for his daily medications, which he was supposed to take the morning of his disappearance.

Family members have expressed concern for Aponte’s safety, especially since he requires assistance when walking for extended periods and is known to dislike wearing his protective helmet, raising the risk of injury.

Aponte is described as a verbal individual, but with no means of transportation or a telephone, though he does have a pager.

Edgar Aponte is described as having black hair, brown eyes, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing about 140 pounds.

The Manchester Police Department has provided a case number, CFS# 2400050813, for reference.
