POWNAL — Vermont State Police responded to a single motor vehicle crash late Friday night where a driver struck and severed a telephone pole.
At approximately 10:25 p.m., authorities arrived on South Stream Road to find a vehicle that had veered off the roadway.
The operator, identified as 26-year-old Seth G.
Drake of Bennington, showed signs of impairment during interactions with the officers.
Following an investigation, Drake was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was taken to the Shaftsbury State Police Barracks for processing.
After processing, Drake was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on Oct. 14 at 8:15 a.m.
