Maine State Police arrest woman after assault, vehicle theft in Windsor

WINDSOR — Maine State Police apprehended 33-year-old Jenyfer Clark of Augusta early Friday morning following an alleged assault on a Windsor business owner and vehicle theft Thursday evening.

Troopers from Central Field Troop responded to a call at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday at 142 Augusta Rockland Road where a female suspect reportedly assaulted the business owner and fled the scene in a stolen pickup truck.

The incident was swiftly reported on social media by the Maine State Police, accompanied by a photograph of the suspect provided by a witness.

The post garnered a credible tip that led to Clark’s identification.

With the cooperation of Troopers from Troop I and Central Field Troop, law enforcement was able to pinpoint Clark’s location.

She was discovered at about 3:40 a.m. hiding in Pittsfield on Canaan Road and subsequently taken into custody.

Clark was transported to Kennebec County Correctional Facility where she faces charges including Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Assault, and Violating Conditions of Release.

She also had an outstanding Probation Revocation warrant and an additional warrant for Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Refusing to Submit to Arrest.

Authorities thanked the public for their assistance in resolving the case.

The business owner reportedly did not sustain injuries.

Police have stated that the investigation is still underway.
