BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Police Department officers arrested a New York man on multiple drug charges after executing a series of search warrants that led to the discovery of large quantities of suspected fentanyl and crack cocaine.
On June 5, police seized a vehicle belonging to Pablo Rodriguez, 63, of New York, NY, following a traffic stop at Quality Inn on 1380 Putney Rd.
A search of the vehicle yielded 500 bags of suspected fentanyl and 26.72 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Later that evening, officers returned to Quality Inn, arrested Rodriguez, and found a small amount of suspected fentanyl on his person along with $2,667 in cash.
A subsequent search of Rodriguez’s hotel room turned up an additional 960 bags of suspected fentanyl and 24.6 grams of suspected crack cocaine, totaling 1,460 bags of suspected fentanyl and 51.32 grams of crack cocaine in Rodriguez’s possession.
Rodriguez was held on $100,000 bail and was scheduled to appear at Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on charges of possession and conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine.
He was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility and later released on bond on Sept. 12.
On Sept. 28, following multiple drug complaints, officers searched Rodriguez’s room at the EconoLodge at 515 Canal St. Approximately 170 bags of suspected crack cocaine were found.
Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to Brattleboro PD, where he was held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
He was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 30.
The Brattleboro Police Department reminds the public that individuals arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
