RICHFORD — A father and son from Richford were cited early Wednesday after one made false bomb threats and the other violated conditions of release, according to Vermont State Police.

At 1:53 a.m., 911 dispatchers received two calls from 19-year-old Keegan Legasse claiming he had planted a bomb in St. Albans and intended to plant another in Richford.

Police from St. Albans and the Vermont State Police responded to the areas mentioned and quickly determined there was no threat to the public.

During the investigation, troopers contacted Keegan Legasse and concluded the bomb threats were not credible.

Meanwhile, they encountered 44-year-old Shaun Legasse, who was found to be under the influence of alcohol — a violation of his release conditions.

Shaun’s conditions stemmed from previous charges that included burglary, unlawful mischief, leaving the scene of a crash, and retail theft.

Keegan Legasse was issued a citation for false public alarms, while Shaun Legasse received a citation for violating the conditions of his release.

Both are scheduled to appear in court to face their respective charges.
