Shaftsbury man arrested for violating release conditions

SHAFTSBURY — A Shaftsbury man was arrested early Wednesday for allegedly violating his court-ordered conditions of release, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities said they responded to assist a suspected disabled motorist on US Route 7 at 12:07 a.m. Upon arrival, officers identified the driver as 57-year-old Frank Baker of Shaftsbury.

During the interaction, it became apparent to the officers that Baker was in breach of his release conditions.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Shaftsbury Barracks.

Baker was issued a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on Nov. 18 at 8:15 a.m. to face the charge of violating his conditions of release.
