NORWALK — A former Walmart manager was extradited from Texas and charged with first-degree larceny after allegedly embezzling approximately $238,000 from the store at 650 Main Ave., Norwalk police said.

The Norwalk Police Patrol division initially responded to the larceny complaint on April 4, where it was reported that ex-manager Erfan Ahmadi had stolen money over a period ranging from July to April.

The Detective Bureau took over the investigation and found evidence of the embezzlement.

Upon attempting to locate Ahmadi for questioning, detectives learned he had fled to Texas.

With the help of Walmart Investigators and the Texas Rangers, an arrest warrant was secured, and Ahmadi, 40, of Austin, Texas, was arrested and held for extradition.

On Sept. 24, Norwalk Police Detectives traveled to Texas and returned with Ahmadi to Connecticut, where he was processed on Sept. 25.

Ahmadi’s bond was set at $500,000 ahead of his court appearance in Stamford on Oct. 9.
