Wethersfield police investigate suspicious death at Berlin Turnpike apartment

WETHERSFIELD — Wethersfield Police Department responded to a call of a medical emergency Tuesday evening that led to the discovery of a deceased woman under suspicious circumstances.

At 6:07 p.m., police were alerted by EMS personnel who were at the scene at 1320 Berlin Turnpike, apartment #521.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed the presence of the deceased woman and called for the Wethersfield Detective Division to take over the investigation.

Due to the nature of the incident, the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad has been engaged to assist, operating under the direction of the New Britain State’s Attorney Office, GA15.

Authorities have stated that initial findings suggest the incident is isolated, and there appears to be no ongoing threat to the community.

The identity of the deceased female is withheld pending notification of next of kin.

This remains an active investigation, and the Wethersfield Police Department will provide updates as more information becomes available.
