1 min read

ACTON — A single-vehicle crash early this morning left a utility pole snapped and H Road temporarily closed, officials said.

At 6 a.m., Deputy Sanborn from the York County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to H Road following reports of a crash.

Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that Edward Flaherty, a 52-year-old Acton resident, lost control of his 2006 GMC Envoy while on his way to work.

The vehicle struck a utility pole, causing it to snap.

Flaherty did not sustain injuries during the incident.

However, the area around 222 H Road was closed to traffic as Central Maine Power worked to remove the damaged pole.

By late morning, the road was cleared and reopened to the public.

The York County Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed if any charges will be filed in connection with the crash.
