WORCESTER — Officers from the Worcester Police Vice Squad arrested a man on firearm charges Monday evening after recovering a loaded “ghost gun” during a vehicle stop.
Andre Tyndale, 28, was taken into custody around 7:59 p.m. when police stopped a vehicle where he was seated in the rear passenger seat.
Tyndale, who had an active warrant, was ordered out of the car and subsequently arrested.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a firearm on the floor beneath Tyndale’s seat.
The Crime Scene Unit was called to the scene to secure the weapon, which was loaded with one round in the chamber and lacked a serial number, making it untraceable, commonly known as a “ghost gun.”
Investigations confirmed that Tyndale is not licensed to carry a firearm.
He now faces several charges, including carrying a loaded firearm without a license, unlawful carry of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, improper storage of a firearm, and the active warrant.
The driver and another passenger in the vehicle were not charged in the incident.
