CHELSEA — Two separate shootings in Chelsea on Monday morning have led to one injury and four arrests, along with the recovery of three firearms, according to the Chelsea Police Department.
The first incident took place around 8:40 a.m. on Fifth Street where a juvenile was shot in the leg.
The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the shooting, another juvenile was identified and arrested in connection with the incident.
Shortly after the first shooting, police were dispatched to 63 Washington Avenue after reports of gunfire.
Officers engaged with three males at the scene and, after brief foot pursuits, apprehended all three suspects.
No injuries were reported in the second incident.
As a precautionary measure, Williams Middle School along with Clark & ELC were placed on a temporary lockdown.
The lockdown was lifted once police secured the area and deemed it safe.
The Chelsea Police Department is continuing its investigation into both shootings and charges are pending.
