Fort Kent police recover stolen bike, seek owner

FORT KENT — In the wake of a successful investigation early this morning, the Fort Kent Police Department has recovered a bicycle and arrested an individual on multiple charges, including criminal attempt (theft by unauthorized taking and/or transfer), criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct, with additional charges pending.

The operation, which took place during the early hours, led to the seizure of the bike that is believed to be stolen.

The police have not yet identified the rightful owner of the bicycle and are reaching out to the community for assistance.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the ownership of the recovered bicycle to come forward.

The Fort Kent Police Department requests that individuals who recognize the bike or who believe it may be theirs, to contact the department directly at 207-834-5678 to claim it.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released pending the ongoing investigation, is currently in custody and facing multiple charges.

The department emphasizes the importance of community assistance in resolving cases involving lost or stolen property and appreciates the public’s support in these efforts.
