NEWPORT CITY –– The North Country Falcons offense exploded for six touchdowns as they snapped a three game losing streak trampling visiting Windsor 46-0. NCUHS got a pair of long scoring runs by senior Hayden Boivin, one from 66 yards out on their first offensive play and on the Falcons second possession Hayden broke a 43 yard charge.
It was part of a stellar day for Boivin who caught a 35 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jacob Gregoire and threw one himself, a 23 yarder to senior wide receiver Jason Pellier. It was Peliliters third touchdown of the year for North Country. Jason made a diving catch as he tumbled into the corner of the end zone.
The Falcons also got an impact game from freshman Jamison Eckhardt as he rambled for 72 yards including a 15 yard scamper into the end zone, his first varsity touchdown.
The Falcons led 30-0 at halftime and added two more second half scoring plays including a Gage Beaumont 5 yard rumble up the middle to paydirt. The North Country defensive unit pitched a shutout holding the Yellowjackets to 167 total yards.
The Falcons, now 1-3, host Mount Mansfield’s Cougars next Friday at Veterans Field on Sept 27. Pre-game show on NSN starts at 6:45 p.m.
