SWANTON — A hit-and-run incident that left Ira Rollo of Swanton with property damage is under investigation by Vermont State Police, officials said Saturday.
The vehicle involved was traveling south on Highgate Road around 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 when it veered off the west side of the road and struck a mailbox outside Rollo’s residence at 1982 Highgate Road.
The vehicle, described as a white or light-colored car, fled the scene and likely sustained minor front-end damage.
Authorities have not identified a suspect and are asking the public for assistance.
Anyone with information related to the accident is urged to contact the Vermont State Police at St. Albans.
