KILLINGTON — A transient man wanted on several charges, including domestic assault, was arrested Thursday after initially eluding police at a local residential community.

Brian LaFountain, 40, was taken into custody after police returned to Sunrise Village, where they had been earlier for a different case.

While gathering witness information, officers learned of LaFountain’s outstanding warrants from Windsor County Superior Court, related to one count of unlawful trespass, one count of domestic assault, and one count of aggravated domestic assault.

Sgt. M. Hoffman of the Killington Police Department reported that LaFountain fled the scene when confronted by law enforcement but was believed to be hiding nearby.

Despite an extensive search, LaFountain initially evaded arrest.

Several hours later, authorities were alerted to LaFountain’s return to the original location.

Upon their arrival, officers found him concealing himself inside a tool trailer.

He was apprehended without further incident.

Following his arrest, LaFountain was lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility, where he is being held without bail as ordered by the arrest warrants.
