GRAND ISLE — A local man has been arrested and faces several charges after a series of incidents involving harassment and threatening behavior towards his neighbors, state police said.

John W. Wright, 60, of Grand Isle, is accused of stalking, unlawful mischief, criminal threatening, negligent operation, and reckless endangerment following a string of encounters with Catharine and Douglas Larson, also of Grand Isle.

Authorities began investigating the matter on Sept. 15 after receiving reports that Wright had on multiple occasions threatened the Larsons and destroyed their property, including plants, flowers, and shrubs.

The situation escalated on Sept. 19 when Wright allegedly followed Douglas Larson from Grand Isle to Colchester in the early morning hours.

Wright is said to have driven aggressively and recklessly during the pursuit.

Vermont State Police apprehended Wright at his home on Sept. 20 after DMV officers executed an unrelated search warrant.

He was subsequently issued a citation for the violations stemming from his interactions with the Larsons.
