YARMOUTH — A Barnstable Grand Jury has indicted 27-year-old Ryan Evans on multiple charges for assaulting two young children in incidents that took place in 2021 and 2024, Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois announced today.

Evans, a Yarmouth resident, faces charges for a 2021 incident that includes Unarmed Burglary, Assault to Rape a Child, Assault and Battery, Malicious Destruction of Property Less than $1200, Larceny Under $1200, and Attempted to Commit Burglary.

For the 2024 incident, he has been indicted on Assault to Rape a Child, two counts of Indecent Assault and Battery, and Enticing a Child Under 16.

On July 6, 2021, Evans allegedly entered a young girl’s bedroom before being chased out by her father, who subsequently alerted authorities.

The same night, a neighbor reported an attempted break-in where her young son was present.

Evans’ fingerprints were found at both locations.

In a separate case dated July 9, 2024, Evans is accused of luring a young boy behind a park bathroom in Yarmouth.

The boy escaped, and Evans, who was on a GPS monitor due to the earlier charges, was placed at the scene by law enforcement using the location data from his device.

Evans is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 23 in the Barnstable Superior Court.

The Special Victims Unit of the Yarmouth Police Department investigated the cases, which are being prosecuted by ADA Courtney Scalice, Chief of Child Abuse and Vulnerable Victims.
