Tewksbury police investigate trespassing at elementary school

TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus announced Thursday that the Tewksbury Police Department is looking into a trespassing incident that briefly interrupted activities at John F.

Ryan Elementary School.

The school administration alerted police in the afternoon after spotting an unwanted visitor in the school parking lot.

Responding officers reviewed surveillance footage and recognized the individual, who was already known to the police.

The department has ascertained that the situation stems from a personal relationship and involves a person with no legitimate business on school grounds.

Authorities have assured that there is no threat to the school or the wider community.

The Tewksbury Police Department continues to investigate the matter.
