Penobscot County deputies recover stolen camper; arrests made

LEE — Deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen camper trailer in Northern Penobscot County and made an arrest on outstanding warrants during the execution of a search warrant on Tuesday.

The camper was initially reported stolen on Sept. 9 from a property in Lee.

While addressing an unrelated matter at a property in Drew Plantation, a deputy involved in the Lee investigation spotted what appeared to be the missing camper on the back of the property.

Upon returning to the Drew Plantation location on Sept. 17 with a search warrant, deputies confirmed the presence of the stolen camper from Lee.

Several individuals were encountered at the property, leading to the identification of suspect(s) believed to be responsible for the theft.

Charges are pending against those linked to the camper’s theft, and additional crimes discovered during the search may result in further charges.

During the warrant execution, one of the subjects, identified as Scott Stanley, 46, of Hudson, was arrested on unrelated warrants.

The Maine Warden Service provided assistance at the scene.
