Man arrested after Naugatuck Green assault

NAUGATUCK — A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after a reported assault on Naugatuck Green left another man injured.

According to Naugatuck Police, they responded to a call at 66 Church Street around 1:15 a.m. where a man entered a bar bleeding, claiming he had been assaulted.

The altercation occurred on the Naugatuck Green and involved 28-year-old Ronnie Robert of Naugatuck and a victim who were known to each other.

The victim reportedly was riding his bicycle when the fight broke out.

Naugatuck EMS evaluated both men at the scene, but neither required further medical treatment.

Robert was arrested and charged with third-degree assault.

He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9 at 9 a.m.
