Single-vehicle crash on I-91 in Derby sends driver to hospital

DERBY — A woman was hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 in Derby on Wednesday morning.

Vermont State Police reported that Edith Draper, 45, lost control of her 2001 Dodge Dakota while traveling southbound on I-91 near Exit 29 at approximately 10:05 a.m. The vehicle crossed through the median and struck the guardrail in the northbound travel lane.

Troopers from the Derby Barracks responded to the scene, located at mile marker 175.8.

Police say Draper sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to North Country Hospital for treatment. Her vehicle suffered front-end damage in the collision.

State Police are continuing their investigation into the factors that may have contributed to the crash.
