BOYLSTON — A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a school in the Berlin Boylston Regional School District on Wednesday morning, leading to a rapid response by local and state authorities.

The Boylston Police Department received a report of the threat at approximately 8:10 a.m. Following the incident, a juvenile suspect was identified and questioned by the police.

The identity of the student has not been disclosed due to their age.

The crisis response protocol was swiftly implemented, involving collaboration between the school district staff and the Boylston and Berlin police, fire, and public works departments.

Students and faculty were evacuated to ensure their safety while the premises were searched.

The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, together with Boylston detectives, conducted a comprehensive sweep of the school.

After a thorough investigation, the authorities determined that the threat was not credible and declared the school safe for reentry.

Chief John A. Annunziata of the Boylston Police Department expressed gratitude to the various agencies that provided assistance during the incident, including the Berlin Police, Fire, and Highway Departments, the Boylston Fire and Highway Departments, Clinton Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and Worcester Police Department.

The incident in Boylston was not connected to any recent swatting calls that have affected other communities.

Classes resumed once the building was cleared, and the district has taken measures to support the students and staff affected by the disruption.
