Two vehicles collide at Middletown Springs intersection

MIDDLETOWN SPRINGS — A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of VT RT 133 and Fitzgerald Road on Sept. 16 at approximately 3:10 p.m. with no injuries reported, according to the Vermont State Police.

David Wood, 84, of Hudson Falls, New York, was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer north on Fitzgerald Road when he attempted to turn left onto VT RT 133.

Michael Whitley, 22, of Weybridge, was traveling west on VT RT 133 in a 1997 Jeep Cherokee.

Wood’s vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by Whitley’s Jeep, which was unable to avoid the crash.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, and despite moderate damage to the passenger side doors of Wood’s Chevrolet and minor damage to the front left quarter of Whitley’s Jeep, there were no injuries reported at the scene.

The Middletown Springs Fire Department also responded and assisted the Vermont State Police.

The road conditions were dry and the weather clear at the time of the incident.

Further investigation into the crash is ongoing.
