NEWPORT — A single-vehicle crash on Stevens Road led to the arrest of a Troy man on suspicion of driving under the influence late Saturday night.
Vermont State Police responded to the scene at 9:45 p.m. after receiving reports of the accident in Barton.
Upon investigation, officers noted that 34-year-old Derrick Whitehill exhibited signs of impairment.
Following field sobriety tests, Whitehill was taken into custody and transported to the Newport Police Department for processing.
This marks the third DUI offense for Whitehill.
He was subsequently lodged at the Northern State Correctional Facility.
