Missing Fort Fairfield man found deceased in North Maine Woods

FORT FAIRFIELD — The Fort Fairfield Police Department announced on Tuesday that a missing local man, Mr. Edward Bolstridge, was found deceased by the U.S.

Border Patrol in a remote area near the northwest border.

Mr. Bolstridge, whose Kia Soul was spotted off an old logging road in township T17 R 12 west of Allagash Township, was located on Monday at around 2 p.m.

The Maine Wardens Service quickly responded to the scene following the vehicle’s discovery by an air unit patrolling the North Maine Woods.

Authorities confirmed that the case has been handed over to the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

The Maine Warden Service is leading the investigation into the incident.

The Fort Fairfield Police Department extended their condolences to Mr. Bolstridge’s family, asking for the public to respect their privacy during this challenging time.

Chief Matthew E. Cummings expressed gratitude towards the Maine Warden Service and the U.S.

Border Patrol for their pivotal roles in locating Mr. Bolstridge.

Further inquiries about the case have been directed to the Maine Wardens Service as they continue their investigation.
