Littleton shooting leaves one dead, police seek public’s help

LITTLETON — New Hampshire authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late last night in Littleton, resulting in the death of one adult male.

According to the Attorney General’s office, at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 16, a distress call was made to 911 by a man claiming he was being pursued and shot at while driving.

Responding officers arrived at the scene near 33 Pleasant Street to discover two vehicles involved in a collision.

The caller was found uninjured, but the other male driver had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The injured man was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Attorney General John M. Formella, along with New Hampshire State Police and Littleton Police, confirmed that the two individuals involved were acquainted with one another, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

An autopsy is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord.

Authorities are urging anyone with information, particularly those who witnessed a car chase or collision in the areas of Union or Cottage Streets, to come forward.
