Fatal rollover crash in Groton claims one life

GROTON — Vermont State Police are investigating a deadly rollover crash that occurred on VT Rt 232 near the Kettle Pond access area on Sept. 16.

At around 8:50 p.m., troopers responded to the scene where they discovered a 2004 Ford F-350 truck that had rolled over off the roadway.

The operator of the vehicle, whose identity is pending next of kin notification, was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries.

The truck was declared a total loss following the accident, which took place under clear weather conditions and on dry roads.

Multiple fire departments, including Peacham FD, Plainfield FD, Marshfield FD, Cabot FD, as well as Calex, assisted the Vermont State Police at the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
