BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Hyde Park unit seized three firearms and $28,000 in cash early Tuesday morning after responding to a report of a suspicious person.

At about 1:29 a.m., on Sept. 17, officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) were called to 8 Neponset Avenue.

A victim had reported observing a group of four males sitting inside two vehicles outside his house, discussing plans to break in.

When police arrived, they spotted a vehicle parked opposite the victim’s residence.

As they sought additional details from Boston Police Operations, the suspects’ vehicle sped away toward Canterbury Street.

After a brief pursuit, the vehicle stopped on Eldridge Road, where two suspects immediately fled on foot.

Despite a search, the suspects eluded capture.

A subsequent inventory search of the abandoned vehicle led to the recovery of the firearms and approximately $28,194 in currency.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the incident and encourages anyone with information to contact District E-18 Detectives at (617) 343-5607.

The identities of all individuals providing anonymous tips will be protected.
