SUNDERLAND — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sunderland Hill Rd and Bacon Hollow Rd resulted in both cars being totaled and minor injuries to the drivers on Sept. 15.

Vermont State Police were called to the scene around 6:19 p.m. and upon arrival, they identified the drivers as Eliza J.

Hurd, 18, of Arlington, and Dan J. Mulroy, 55, of Sunderland.

Hurd, driving a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, was traveling west on Bacon Hollow Rd when she reached the stop sign at the end of the road.

As she attempted a left turn onto Sunderland Hill Rd, Mulroy, heading north in his 2013 GMC Acadia, descended the hill.

Hurd failed to yield to Mulroy, leading to a head-on collision.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries.

Neither required hospitalization.

The crash prompted responses from the Arlington Fire Department and Arlington Rescue Squad.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Paul’s Towing.

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
