RICHMOND — Officers from the Richmond Police Department were called to ReFind Boutique on East Main Street at around 1:20 p.m. Monday after a report of vandalism, including graffiti and damage to a Ukrainian flag on the premises.

According to police, when they arrived at the business at 3176 East Main St., they found the flag torn and defaced.

Later in the day, at about 6:15 p.m., the Hinesburg Police Department received a call that the suspect had returned and threatened employees concerning the Ukrainian flag, warning, “If you put those flags back up, I will come back and break the windows.”

The suspect is described as a white male driving a white pickup truck.

The Richmond and Hinesburg Police Departments have denounced the actions as intolerable, emphasizing that racism, discrimination, and hate-motivated acts have no place in the community.

They are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward.

The case remains under active investigation, and the police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible.

Chief Cambridge of the Richmond Police has requested that anyone with information that could aid in the investigation contact the department at (802) 482-3397.
