Needham acupuncturist arrested on indecent assault charges

NEEDHAM — A Needham acupuncturist was arrested Friday evening for alleged indecent assault and battery at his place of practice, the local police department reported.

At around 12:25 p.m. on Friday, a client reported to the Needham Police Department that they had been victim of an indecent assault and battery at the Boston Acupuncture Center and Herbal Medicine, located at 1410 Highland Ave.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Qunhao Zhang, 56, who was taken into custody at his home around 7:23 p.m.

Zhang is facing two counts of Indecent A&B on Person 14 or Over.

It was also uncovered that Zhang had his acupuncture license revoked in the fall of last year by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine.

The Needham Police Department is actively seeking further information and urges other clients who may have experienced similar incidents to come forward.
