Two teens arrested after attempted armed robbery in Hyde Park

BOSTON — Two juvenile males were apprehended late Friday night following an attempted robbery in the Hyde Park neighborhood, according to the Boston Police Department.

At approximately 10:29 p.m., on Sept. 13, officers from District E-18 responded to a call near Neponset Valley Parkway and Clifford Street about a person armed with a gun.

Boston Police Operations had provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle as they fled the scene.

The incident began when the victim, seated at Camp Meigs Playground, was confronted by a group of males.

The assailants attempted to steal the victim’s scooter, with one individual brandishing a firearm.

The victim managed to escape on his scooter and alerted authorities.

While interviewing the victim, officers spotted the suspect vehicle turning onto Wingate Road.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the two occupants were ordered to exit the car.

Following the procedure, officers handcuffed both suspects and informed them of the reasons for the stop.

The two juveniles were arrested and charged with delinquency to wit; armed assault with intent to rob.

The 16-year-old faces an additional charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Both are scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
