St. Johnsbury man arrested as fugitive from justice

ST. JOHNSBURY — A multi-officer operation led by Captain Gray and Chief Pierce resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Matthew Gonyer on Sept. 13 at 7:03 p.m. after a search warrant was executed at his residence on 789 Railroad Street.

Corporal Hartwell of the St. Johnsbury Police Department reported that the search uncovered an outstanding warrant from New Hampshire for Gonyer, classifying him as a fugitive from justice.

Following the discovery, Gonyer was taken into custody without bail and transported to the police station for processing.

Authorities have confirmed that Gonyer was lodged and is scheduled for arraignment on Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Caledonia court.

The case is set for legal action, and a mug shot has been released in association with the arrest.

Further details regarding the charges from New Hampshire were not immediately available.
