Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying arson, theft suspect in Van Buren

VAN BUREN — The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a theft and arson case on Monroe Street earlier today.

Authorities reported that an individual was caught on camera this morning stealing a motorcycle from a residential garage at 125 Monroe Street.

After committing the theft, the suspect set the garage on fire before fleeing the scene with the vehicle.

While acknowledging the poor quality of the surveillance photos, the Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may recognize the subject to come forward.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the incident.
