Providence man arrested as fugitive from justice, another for DUI

PROVIDENCE — Two men were arrested by Rhode Island State Police in separate incidents, one as a fugitive from justice and another on DUI charges, officials said Sunday.

At 10:17 a.m., troopers from the Scituate Barracks apprehended Jashon Dent, of Providence, on a Fugitive from Justice warrant from the Attleboro Police Department.

The original charge was Larceny under $1,200.

The arrest occurred following a traffic stop on Valley Street.

Dent was processed at State Police Headquarters and later transported to Sixth District Court for arraignment.

Earlier, at 2:48 a.m., troopers arrested Marlon Fuentes, 42, of Providence, for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with unknown blood alcohol content, his first offense, and for refusal to submit to a chemical test, also a first offense.

Fuentes was stopped on Manton Avenue and taken to State Police Headquarters for processing.

After arraignment, he was released into the custody of a responsible adult by a Justice of the Peace.
