BOSTON — Two individuals were apprehended by Boston police Friday after allegedly shoplifting from a store in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood.

At approximately 4:47 p.m., officers from the South End’s District D-4 arrested Kiara Ragland, 19, of Boston, and Jacarie Allen, 20, of Roxbury, on charges of larceny.

The officers, who were patrolling the Prudential Mall on foot due to a spike in larceny and shoplifting occurrences, responded to a call about an ongoing theft at 800 Boylston Street.

Upon arrival, they were informed that a known shoplifter was inside the Lululemon store.

Shortly after, the officers observed two women exiting the store without paying for their merchandise.

The suspects were followed and subsequently stopped at 815 Boylston Street.

Ragland and Allen were handcuffed and found in possession of roughly $758 worth of stolen goods, which were immediately returned to the store.

Both were charged with larceny under $1,200.

Further investigation revealed that Allen had four active warrants for various offenses including shoplifting, larceny, and assault and battery.

The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court.
