BOSTON — Boston police arrested two suspects Friday in connection with a shooting incident that occurred earlier this month in Roxbury.

Elton Shepard, 66, of Hyde Park, was apprehended at approximately 9:45 a.m. near 150 Clare Avenue.

His son, Elton Shepard Jr., 42, of Boston, was arrested around 10:55 a.m. in Brookline.

Both men face charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, assault to murder, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

They are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The arrests stem from a Sept. 4 incident when officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 2359 Washington Street at 3:22 a.m. A shooting victim later arrived at the District B-2 police station, where officers provided medical assistance.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Youth Violence Strike Force conducted both arrests based on warrants issued by Roxbury District Court.
