RV driver arrested after hit-and-run, crash in Westbrook

WESTBROOK — A Portland woman was arrested Monday night after allegedly crashing an RV into several parked cars and fleeing the scene.

Westbrook police responded to a parking lot on Jacqueline Way around 8:45 p.m. for reports of a hit-and-run crash.

Officers learned that a recreational vehicle had struck multiple unoccupied vehicles while leaving the lot.

Police quickly located the RV in a ditch near the intersection of Spring Street and Eisenhower Drive.

The driver had fled into nearby woods but was apprehended shortly after.

Michelle Hamlin, 53, of Portland, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, aggravated criminal mischief, operating after suspension, violation of conditions of release, and leaving the scene of an accident.

She was also placed on a probation hold.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
