PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested a Providence woman early Tuesday on a drug possession charge following a traffic stop in the city.
Alisia M. Cabral, 49, was taken into custody at 1:13 a.m. after troopers pulled over a vehicle on Union Avenue, according to a statement from the Rhode Island State Police.
Cabral was charged with possession of less than 10 grams of fentanyl, a Schedule I-V controlled substance.
Authorities transported Cabral to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing.
She was later arraigned by a justice of the peace and released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
The Rhode Island State Police did not provide further details about the circumstances leading to the traffic stop or arrest.
