NORTH ATTLEBORO — A North Attleboro man was arrested Thursday after fleeing police and injuring three officers, authorities said.

Kevin Burke was taken into custody following a confrontation with North Attleboro police at a Mansfield hotel, according to a statement from Attleboro Police Chief Richard McQuade.

Officers attempted to serve outstanding arrest warrants on Burke at the Red Roof Inn on Forbes Boulevard in Mansfield at 3 p.m. When confronted, Burke fled in his vehicle, dragging one officer in the process.

A second officer fired his weapon as Burke fled, causing a superficial gunshot wound to Burke’s arm.

He was later apprehended in North Attleboro without further incident.

Burke received treatment for his injury at a local hospital before being released into police custody.

Three North Attleboro officers were injured during the incident.

All have been released from the hospital and are expected to fully recover, McQuade said.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office is handling further inquiries about the ongoing investigation.
