Dorchester man arrested for fentanyl trafficking in Roxbury

BOSTON — Boston police arrested a Dorchester man Thursday on drug trafficking charges after recovering over 200 grams of fentanyl during a search in Roxbury.

Members of the Drug Control Units from District B-2 (Roxbury) and District C-6 (South Boston) executed search warrants at 16 Charlotte Street at approximately 9:37 a.m. on Sept. 12, 2024.

Officers arrested David Ruiz-Martinez, 24, of Dorchester, after recovering four plastic bags containing a total of about 229 grams of fentanyl.

Police also seized $2,921 in cash and various drug paraphernalia associated with narcotics distribution.

Ruiz-Martinez was charged with trafficking of Class A drugs.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.

The arrest was the result of an ongoing drug investigation by the Boston Police Department.
