CLINTON — Police seized a large quantity of drugs, firearms and cash, and recovered a stolen motorcycle during an early morning raid Thursday, authorities said.
Israel Carpenter, 46, was arrested on multiple felony warrants after a search of his camper across from 774 Main St., Clinton Police Department officials said.
The Maine State Police Tactical Team assisted in executing the warrant due to concerns Carpenter might be armed.
After initially refusing to surrender, Carpenter was taken into custody without incident following a 40-50 minute standoff.
Officers found 13.7 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine on Carpenter during the arrest, leading to a second search warrant for the property.
The subsequent search yielded 299.3 grams of methamphetamine, 48.8 grams of fentanyl, 11 hydrocodone pills, 16.5 grams of cocaine, numerous firearms and edged weapons, a stolen motorcycle, and alcohol in violation of Carpenter’s release conditions.
Carpenter faces multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, and four counts of violating conditions of release.
He is being held at Kennebec County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
