EVERETT — Police Chief Strong announced that on Sept. 11, at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Special Crimes Investigation Unit (SCIU), including Sgt.

Hall, Detectives Sabella, Mason, and Connor, conducted a narcotics operation on Hancock Street.

Officer Rizza and K9 Cooper also participated in the undercover enforcement effort.

Detectives successfully initiated a cold call to an unknown individual and arranged to purchase narcotics while operating undercover.

A male, later identified as Juan Carlos Gonzalez of Dorchester, was spotted in the area in the vehicle described as the target.

The detectives completed a transaction with Gonzalez, obtaining three bags of Fentanyl.

Following the purchase, Officer Shields assisted in conducting a vehicle stop, which resulted in Gonzalez being taken into custody without incident.

Back at the station, Officer Rizza deployed K9 Cooper, who signaled the presence of narcotics in the driver’s side footwell near a fuse panel.

A search revealed an additional seven bags of cocaine concealed within the panel.

Gonzalez faces charges for distribution of a Class A substance, Fentanyl, and possession of a Class B substance, cocaine, with intent to distribute.
