BOSTON — Detectives from the Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested a 17-year-old male on Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a Dorchester man last month.

The juvenile, whose name has not been released due to his age, was apprehended at about 9:52 a.m. on Sept. 11 after being wanted on a warrant from Dorchester District Court.

He faces charges of murder, assault to murder, home invasion, and carrying a firearm without a license.

An arraignment is scheduled at Dorchester District Court.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred at around 6:42 p.m. on Aug. 12, when officers responded to a call at 5 Trent St. Upon arrival, they found two men with gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to a local hospital, where one, Leudis Mejia Sanchez, 49, was pronounced dead.

The second victim received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
