Richford man accused of grand larceny at Sheldon convenience store

SHELDON — A Richford man was cited for grand larceny by Vermont State Police after allegedly stealing money and merchandise from a local convenience store.

Authorities responded to a report from the Jolley convenience store manager at 682 Mill St. on Aug. 26 at approximately 6:51 p.m., after an employee was found to have taken cash from the register and left the premises unattended.

The investigation identified the employee as 33-year-old Jeffrey Brown of Richford, who had fled the state following the incident.

Brown was located on Sept. 10 and subsequently issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court to answer to the charges.

The date of his court appearance has not been announced.
