GROTON — Chief L.J. Fusaro Jr. of the Town of Groton Police Department provided an update Wednesday on the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Max J. Scott, who has been missing for over two years.

Scott, 29, was last seen walking on South Road in Groton on June 25, 2022, and is known to frequent the Poquonnock Bridge area.

He is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with long brown hair, blue eyes, and brown facial hair.

The police department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has been heavily involved in the search efforts since receiving the initial missing person complaint in late June 2022.

The CID has conducted hundreds of interviews, filed numerous case reports, and reviewed extensive body-worn camera footage in the quest to locate Scott.

Working closely with local law enforcement, Connecticut State Police, and federal partners, the CID has employed a range of investigative techniques including canine and drone searches, informant intelligence gathering, underwater searches, and surveillance.

They have also utilized various databases and clearinghouses in their efforts.

“Our Detectives have been in near-daily contact with members of Max’s family to keep them apprised of developments in the case and assure the family that locating Max is a priority for the Groton Police,” Chief Fusaro said. “We remain committed to using all resources at our department’s disposal to aid in finding Max.”

The police department urges anyone with information about Scott’s whereabouts to contact them at 860-441-6712 or submit an anonymous tip online.

The search to find Scott continues with determination and collaborative effort.
