Boston police seek tips on gold chain robberies in Roxbury

BOSTON — Boston Police Department detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in gathering information related to a series of gold chain armed robberies that have been occurring in Roxbury since late August.

Victims walking along the road have been targeted by multiple male suspects, who forcibly steal their gold jewelry.

Witnesses have consistently reported that the suspects make their escape on a moped.

In one reported incident, a black firearm was brandished by a suspect, though no subsequent robberies have included the use of a weapon.

The majority of victims have been young adults aged between 20 and 30, with one reported victim in their 60s.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating these crimes and is appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
