BOSTON — U.S. Marshals apprehended a suspect in Philadelphia on Tuesday in connection with multiple armed robberies in Boston.
Edwin Santo, 22, was arrested following a collaborative effort between the Boston Police Department and U.S. Marshals.
Boston police detectives successfully tracked Santo’s location, leading to his capture.
Santo faced outstanding warrants from Roxbury District Court for two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and assault and battery with a firearm.
His arraignment is scheduled to take place in Roxbury District Court.
The suspect is linked to a series of robberies targeting elderly individuals over 60 years old.
The incidents occurred in Boston’s Districts B-2 (Roxbury), B-3 (Mattapan), and E-18 (Hyde Park), with the perpetrator allegedly stealing gold chains from the victims.
